Who is your favorite local band? Please provide location and links if available.

My favorite local band is Superhopper (http://www.superhopper.com). I have seen them play at a few bars in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Great stuff. Check em out. I think you can buy their latest CD online.

My favourite "local" band are Hope of the States, they're not really local, but one of my ex-students is a member.

Sadly they suffered a real setback when mixing their first album in RealWorld studios, when their guitarist was found hanged...:(

I'm still waiting to hear what they intend to do, but I'm hoping they'll finish the work they started.

my favorite local band is from my former home, pittsburgh PA. they go by the moniker of The Borderless Puzzle (http://www.emayhem.com/profiles/profile.php?profile=450), and they are the only "jam band" i still listen to. they do it without a keyboardist! that's skill. watch for them in your hometown. their web-thing sucks. hopefully they'll put up some mp3's soon.

The only decent local band in south Florida is Dashboard Confessional.

My favorite local band (I'll admit, I'm biased) is Not Exactly Pizza, ska in the tradition of Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and Reel Big Fish. Kind of semi-broken up now, as the drummer is at Berklee and everyone else is either at RIC or still in high school. I did get to play with them once though. They wanted to get some fans at my school, but they couldn't play at our charity-fundraising event unless someone (me) was a student. Oh, and my cousin is the guitar player.

Oh, can I claim Godsmack as local? I remember hearing them on WAAF before they got a contract. :)
