I'm a photographer. I'm looking for a designer to help me with my "logo"m brand identity, etc etc. I am currently in an extremely small market, and there are zero local options unfortunately.

I tried Googling around, but it's like trying to drink from a fire hose.

How do you find a great designer that you can mesh with? I guess I'm asking for recommendations, tips, whatever you have.

I used this company (http://www.norwood-design.com/) for my photography branding. Steve's great to work with - tell him Gary sent you or PM me if you have any questions...

Here's two he did for me:

you can look at Coroflot portfolios: http://www.coroflot.com/public/individual_browse.asp

or at AIGA Designer Directory:
http://www.aiga.org/content.cfm/designer-directory

and find someone who has work you like.then find out if you can get along with them. then find out if you can afford what they charge.

I'm a logotype designer, print designer and web designer. I have lots of experience in the field. If you are looking in hiring, you should give me a shout at stefan[dot]sobering[at]gmail[dot]com and I'll show you some examples and give you a quote. Let me know!
