I purchased a mbp back in june of this year with my parent's american express credit card. I've heard there are some benefits? Anyone know about them?

Just One: It's your parent's AMEX card. What the hell else do you want?

depending on the type .... or maybe all of them... your mbp will automatically have it's original 1 year warranty extended to 2 (buying on a credit card i believe doubles the original warranty up to 1 year additional and up to 1000 dollars worth.. or something)
other than that's that's about it.
I think it's covered under accidental damage for 3 months after the initial purchase too up to 1000 dollars.

the other good thing, if your purchase gets STOLEN, you are covered.. depending on the card. you have to give a lot of paperwork, but it's worth it...

Here dude,
Your new laptop gives you trouble the day after the warranty expires. No worries if you purchased it entirely with your Card, thanks to the Extended Warranty
Benefit Details
Automatic Protection - Charge your covered purchases that have a valid U.S. manufacturer's warranty entirely to the Card.
Extend Your Warranty - The Extended Warranty will extend the terms of the original U.S. manufacturer's warranty for up to one additional year on eligible purchases with warranties of 5 years or less.
Don't Think Twice - Coverage is available for eligible items for up to $10,000 (not to exceed $50,000 per Card account per policy year).

This is fantastic! I just purchased an alu mb on my shiny new american express card due to the 0% APR... It's nice to hear about this excellent feature. Nice to know that I will have 4 years of warranty coverage if I buy applecare...

IF you your card is linked to the Amex Member Rewards (MR) program and IF you access the Apple Store through the MR section of the online American Express MR site BEFORE ordering, anything you order in the store (except IPhone) will get you Triple Rewards. I think it used to be double rewards, but it recently went up, possibly in anticipation of the holidays.
