iPhone 3G AT&T Questions for Family Plan

So I was looking around the AT&T website, and I was wondering if I could to this: Create a new account with the $60 a month Family Plan, add a second line with some free phone, activate the account, call AT&T and tell them I want to add the $30 a month iPhone data, and then switch the phone to the iPhone?
The cheapest family plan is $59.99, which includes two lines and 550 anytime minutes. For each iPhone on that plan, you need to add $30 each for the data. From what I understand, that $59.99 family plan is not available in all markets in the US.
The cheapest individual plan is $39.99. Plus $30 for data, so it would be $69.99 for an iPhone on a individual plan, or $89.99 for a family plan with one iPhone and one regular phone.

Can I get the subsidized iPhone for $300 with the $59.99 family plan, so then it would cost about $90-95 a month?
Of course. Out of curiosity, have you even looked at AT&T's website? Many of your questions can be answered there in a matter of seconds.

Yes, you can get the discounted phone price with any plan. Go to wireless.att.com and put in your zip code and see what plans are available in your area. As I said, the $59.99 family plan may not be available in all areas. I am on it now, but I read someplace that it depends on the area of the country. I think that $39.99 price on that website you posted was a mistake. Either a typo that was meant to be $59.99 or they mistook a individual plan for a family plan.

You are looking at about $100 a month (with no text messages) after taxes and fees.

I did, but I wasn't sure if it applied to the iPhone as well.
So, i just go into the AT&T store, say I want the cheapest family plan, with the iPhone data, and they'll sell me the iPhone for $300? Also, will the second line come with a free cheapo phone?
Yes. There will also be a $36 activation fee. Not sure if it is per line or for the entire plan. They have several cheap phones, but online is the cheapest...but you can't get an iPhone online.
What I would do is go in, get a regular individual plan with an iPhone. Go home, go to wirefly.com or letstalk.com and add a line and change the plan then. Wirefly has much better prices on phones. A phone that might cost $100 in stores will be free on wirefly.com or letstalk.com. I have bought phones from both before, and they are legit and fast.
If you don't really care about the second phone, then I am sure they will have a basic crappy cheap phone in stores.

Might I suggest you call AT&T and ask them these questions. I was very confused when I switched to AT&T and wanted an iPhone, But, all my questions were answered with a simple call.
I got a family plan, Mine with the iPhone is $99 a month, the other phone (not a iPhone is $9.99). We share 750 minutes, unlimited weekend, and nights.
