any way to gift an app?

I want to gift my new app to somebody. Is doesn't appear the store has this functionality yet and the cheapest itunes gift card on the itunes store is $10....Any ideas for gifiting a $1.99 app?

Not a dev so never looked into it but I know you can send apps to fam, friends and beta testers, etc..

Sell him a $10 gift card for only $8?

Or if he's a beta tester, or someone who will post a good review of your app, just eat the $8 as the cost of doing business.

No. I asked over at Apple Discussions and they're apparently working on this feature, but it's not a feature yet. BTW, that is just stupid to me as you can gift everything else in the iTunes store, how is an app different? I would have gifted Crash Nitro to at least 5 people when it was on sale. Their loss. ;)
