In Safari, I have the google search engine and when I enter in a letter it automatically brings up my search history. So how do you erase that? And I don't mean the actual browsing history, cookies, cache, etc..

maybe if you change your setting to use another search service like yahoo ? and then turn it back to google?

I really don't know...

Maybe this is what you are looking for:
- Got to bookmarks.
- Find history.
- Select.
- Then press clear.
