Help! DVD Player Software install issue

Here's my strange problem.

I'm installing OS X.2 on my pismo, but the DVD player only plays DVD's, not CD's. I don't know why.

When I install Jaguar, I can't find the DVD player application, and imagine it didn't get installed because I had to use a CD/RW drive to run the CD, and the DVD drive wasn't detected.

How can I install the DVD player application separately, so I can play movies.

I've looked everywhere and can't figure it out.
