iPod Multiple Files for Different Devices

Is there a way to have multiple files for different devices. Like if I want a video encoded at 5000 for my Apple TV but only 1500 for my ipod.

Also, if I buy the HD version of a show on itunes is there a way to make it work on my ipod?
 
Yes, you can have different versions for different devices. Any HD TV show purchase includes an SD version for free. 🙂
