I call foul. The magsafe led is unlit and there is no shadow from the camera person, if the light is directly overhead UNLESS it's cropped.

It's lit from the left, and magsafe led won't be lit if it's not plugged in...:p

I don't have an HDMI cable in front of me, but could it be HDMI?

Looks pretty good, aside from the MagSafe plug going in at an odd angle. Same with the white USB cord. If you zoom in, you'll see they're askew.

too narrow for standard hdmi. you can get smaller jacks, but they're smaller than that again.

Not to be mean or anything but I don't think that this image is genuine. The edges of the machine towards just don't seem to have consist lighting effect on the front just doesn't seem correct. Of course I have no idea where/what the light source is, however this image would not be too hard to reproduce with my black mac book and some levels corrections....

Yea, that'll be that crappy cheap Apple build quality someone mentioned earlier.

Disgraceful. ;)

I think it's genuine, but if it's not then it won't be because of any lighting issues. I could make a comparable fake myself in maya in an hour if I could be bothered to boot up my pc.

has anybody calculated size and screen ratio of this book. relative to the apple symbol or usb plug with. is it 16:10 or 16:9? is it a 13.3 inch or a 13.3 inch with less becel?

if it has firewire and a good display it's high on my list. if it's not fake that is.;)

Also that has a Mini-DVI plugged in, current MBP have full size DVI out.

Just look at the corners. It's an MB made to look metallic.

Or a 12" PowerBook with the MagSafe and other ports taped to the side.

The port orientation seems to suggest that it is the current 13.3" MacBook, and it may have just been taken in an awkward lighting situation, because the only difference between this and the current MacBook is that it seems to be aluminum.

The PowerBooks didn't have Magsafes, the had the old pin and barrel connectors.

Just saying, y'know...

No it's not. That's a photoshopped MB hooked up to a Mini-DVI to DVI adaptor. There's no DisplayPort nor VGA involved.

Clearly just a MacBook Pro/Powerbook sitting well above the table with the cables heading underneath to something else.

That's why he said taped.

this has to be it, its not a 12" powerbook (aspect ratio) and the aluminum work looks to good to be faked.

It's a PowerBook, the MagSafe is taped.

Defientally looks photoshopped to me, look at the top left corner, looks like it was cut out (probably from a MBP 15"), and fit to the macbook's current dimensions.

Look at the shadows on the left. They are all screwed up. Even if there would be shadows on that side of the laptop, they would be shorter over the cables as they entered the laptop than on the desk. The shadows here are the same length even on the cables/ports. This image is obviously doctored. In face the shadows are the whole edge are messed up, and not congruent with the light source.

12" PowerBook wasn't 16:10.

Looks like a photoshopped MacBook, and that DVI adapter is taped on as you said.
