What's a good price on a used iBook

I might be making my first mac convert, so I'm sort of excited. He's interested in getting a late model iBook, used, and I was wondering if any here new what the going rates were or where I could find a reference.

Before you buy used, check out www.smalldog.com and take a look at their "famous price list" where you might be surprised to find a couple new late model just shy of the latest rev ibooks for very good prices. I haven't been in there myself recently, but last time I was there were a couple good deals.
