optical drive is gonna blow!

guys my optical drive is EXTREMELY LOUD! . is it normal to be really loud? it litteraly sounds louder than my cars fan.

CD drives are loud, although I dont know if that loud of a sound is normal. Does it always sound like that or just when first spinning up the disc? The only time i've noticed my cd drive to be insanely loud was when I accidently put 2 discs in the drive at once (I didnt realize one was already in there).

Is it producing a lot of heat? I have a drive at work that rattles the bay below it and causes the loudest sound... sounds just like a lawn mower. But other than being extremely annoying it works fine.
