Some bad news ... & a little hope (At least for me)

Man... I was just about to order a Touchmods Mic.
But before I clicked the "Add to cart" Button I noticed some words in bold.
... ... ...

"Preliminary tests show that iPhone applications from the AppStore do not work on the touch with the mic and that the iPod touch 2.0 firmware does not work with the mic"

That means Fring will not work with the mic. Plus it is not compatible with the 2.0 software.
And I can't seem to find the jailbroken application for the mic in either Cydia OR Installer.

That was the bad news.
Here is the slim chance of hope.
I emailed the developer with a few questions.

The questions included:
Are you in the process of making the mic compatible with the 2.0 Firmware?
Will the headset work instead of the mic?
etc...

*Sigh* I hope he answers me with some enlightenment on the progress ... if there is any.

Oh ... and if you already knew this ... then my bad.
Just wanted to put in my 2 cents.

i have the headset version. The mic DOES NOT work on the 2g Touch or 2.0 software. But, the headphones do.

I have a 1st gen. Not a 2nd gen.
Don't they have a official apple headset in the apple store?

1st. How are you currently trying to make the mic compatible with the 2.0 software?
2nd. I have an ipod touch running 2.0.2 Jailbroken. Would I be able to find software off of installer or Cydia for this mic?
3. If I buy the headset bundle, from your website, will it work with my ipod and it's firmware?
4. Is the mic/headset compatible with Fring (Off the app store... despite what was stated in the quote)?
