How do I clean up icons for dev apps from my iPhone?

I've been working on a few different apps, and some are now defunct and others have had their names changed. However, they all still appear on my iphone (even the ones whose names I have changed). They don't appear in iTunes, so I can't get rid of them that way. How do I clean them up?

same way as any other app: touch and hold down the icon on your device until it starts to wiggle.

Tap on the minus control and the app will be deleted.
