That doesn't necessarily mean the network sucked--just that the iphone is a better piece of hardware. 🙂 A more accurate test would have compared the exact same kind of handset.

They can bump the speed all they want if the hardware is bottle necked or the software clunky what's the point?

I just thought it was really funny to see a review of the BIG debut for Sprint and see the iPhone smoke it .... and see the newsgirl try and just talk her way past it and move on... quickly

.

Sprint has been talking about WiMax for years. The only problem is that the network equipment (base stations) are VERY costly for the network operators; therefore the roll-out across the nation will be very slow. Lucky Baltimorers! (jealous)

at least they started it in a challenging area, it definitely shows promise but as someone who still doesnt have 3g in my area, which used to be the fastest growing area in the US, i think we need to have decent 3g coverage before just jumping to 4g

even if it works 45 a month is a lot, we already have people screaming bloody murder for AT&Ts increase

Amen. I especially think it was crap for people outside of 3G areas. Very similar to paying the DSL price even if you only had dial-up access in your area. I'm sticking with my $20 EDGE plan until I can get a huge deal selling my iPhone, AT&T finds a way to lower prices, or I just gotta have 3G. 🙂

AT&T and others should really worry more about getting 3G in more places before jumping to 4G/WiMax.
