Handbrake shuts down after scanning source DVD

I've tried encoding several of my kid's DVDs to use in my Apple TV. On many of them, after I enter the source (the DVD drive), it scans the source. Then after it does the last one, handbrake shuts down.

It seems to occur when there are many "tracks" it scans - like 21 or 24. The movies with only 3 or 4 it does no problem.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas? Thanks.

Oh yea, happens quite a lot lately when trying to convert my TV show dvd's. usually I need to use a windows ripper to try and rip the individual shows by themselves. Usually when this happens Mactheripper does not work right either.
