Fellow lazy people, how do you keep your house clean?

When it comes to cleaning up my apartment, I'm as lazy as they come(though not lazy at work 😛), so naturally my place is freaking disgusting to everyone who isn't me(and barely tolerable to everyone else). I just cannot find the motivation to clean it. So I ask my fellow slackers, how do you keep your place clean?
 
you dont have to be diligent the whole time. you can still have lazy days 🙂. just set aside a moment to clean the kitchen each day and a day every week to vacuum, clean up your mess and clean the bathroom. youve just gotta make yourself do it otherwise your laziness will always win. its easier said than done. maybe give yourself a reward after cleaning 😉.
 
Don't have much stuff! 😛

Buy a dishwasher? What do you mean, just really disorganised or actually dirty/unclean?
 
Be intelligently lazy, clean as you go along and then it's no effort.

Being lazy in that way is simply a bit silly, it'll only result in more work in the long run.
 
if you dont mind me asking. How old are you? I ask because i find more and more with kids these days, they learn to clean as they get older. They realize how simple it is to just take the extra 30 seconds and put it in the dishwasher. or just dont throw it on the floor, throw it in the hamper. Its a maturity thing, in my opinion. Yes there are older men and women who are still as messy if not worse, but they are an exception. So until you learn that you have to suck it up, grow up and clean i think you are out of luck. Simply its called being lazy. That wont get you far.😀

If you get a dish dirty, or cook, wash your dishes right after you are done having supper. Washing 4 dishes is easier then 20 after a week of eating.

Personally, I'm not a fan of cleaning so I'll make myself clean once a week, usually Sundays, no matter what, so I usually play music really loud so it seems more bearable.
 
I'm half lazy. I'll mess my place up enough that I can spend a good few hours having a big clean out.

Cleaners work but hope that you don't have dodgy possessions and a cleaner with loose lips. 😀

28, so waaaaaaaaaaaaaay past the age where I can claim I don't know any better, plus I have been living on my own for about 10 years now. Well, technically I had roommates in college, but they were just as bad as I. Me and my roommate freshman year had this amorphous blob in the middle of the dorm simply referred to as "the pile", we very rarely ventured into it.
 
Some people are tidy. Some aren't. I'm not... 😛

I've just had a major blitz of the apartment since I had folks staying over. Now it's this tidy then I'll try to be diligent and make sure that I spend 10 minutes every couple of days keeping it like this.

It's once it goes beyond the 'an hour will fix it' stage that it becomes a massive task that you keep putting off and will just end up taking longer and longer.

To be honest, it's not so much laziness much of the time than to be honest, I just don't notice dust and stuff.

Still... every time I watch Criminal Minds, the psychotic killer seems to have an OCD obsession with order so at least, I know my mind's more likely uncluttered!
 
My mum makes me clean my room (shes like Monica from Friends but on steroids) but when I get my own place my mum would hate it, everything will be messy. And there will be TVs everywhere 😀

This is really the best way. First you will have to get off your duff and really clean everything. Afterward it is a matter of not making a mess that needs to be cleaned. Oh and when washing your hands don't splash water all over the place. Many people do that and the water droplets become magnets for dirt, soapscum and water marks when they dry giving an immediate filthy look.

Though I have a hard time relating since I am really clean. The worst I get is a pile of receipts I build up in a neat stack, one book sitting on my desk and three weeks of dust build up. My roommates in college had it easy since I basically ran around picking everything up. Heck I keep a cleaner place than most women twice my age.

We've been happy with our decision to hire a cleaner. We have her work over our place every two weeks, but personally I think once per month would be fine.

We're generally neat, but a cleaner does an extraordinary job of getting every nook and cranny of the floors, countertops, and so on. It's cool to come home from work and have the place be completely spotless.
 
Yeah, the best bet is to do little bits every day and never let it build up to a big problem.

Maybe you could get in a cleaner to help you get over the worst (although some will refuse to work in stupidly messy conditions), then try and do one chore for 10-15mins a day to stay on top of things.
 
We never have a clean house. It's usualy neat and tidy, but NEVER clean. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. We've given up...
