I agree. I would be hard pressed to find a girl that I would be willing to give up my independence for and settle down. I like being single (it gets lonely at times) because if I want to buy something, I save up and get it; If I want to go somewhere, I can pretty much drop everything and go; If I want to go on vacation somewhere, I save and go. I think living together is a better judge on if you can last through marriage than dating, my wife and I only dated about 6 months before getting married, but lived together just about that whole time, but I suppose I am one of the exceptions, got married at 18 and our 6th year anniversary is 4/20/09

I understand that. I posted a few pages back that I recently (6 months ago) got out of a 3.5 year relationship. It was tough as first, but now I'm really enjoying being single. I love the freedom in many ways; time, money, commitments. I personally don't think I want to be single for ever, but I'm definitely enjoying it now. It also helps that my roommate is single and we go "bro-ing" out quite a bit. We definitely are each others wingman.

Well here is one for you. Over the past 5 years I have tried a couple different relationships but girls seem to not like it when you work say 12-16 hours a day 5-7 days a week. Was never able to really spend anytime with anyone unless I worked with them. I was not about to start dating people at work. For the obvious reasons, but then also because I would not want to talk about work all the time. Saw the folks do it and not so much for me. Although there was this one girl in HR that was rather awesome. Of course the last thing you should do is date your HR rep.

So too much work equaled no time for the ladies.

It's basically issues of trust, I guess. It's hard to find people who fit together on that level. Trust means different things to everyone. And the boundaries are always different.

Well, like I said, I can take it or leave it. Both things have their merits/drawbacks. The most important thing is not to be afraid of either situation and look at them from an honest POV. Some people are afraid of relationships and some are afraid to be single. Neither is anything to be afraid of, and I think we get the most out of our relationships when we fear neither.
