A lot of websites, dedicated to the new music community enabled by GarageBand, started popping up just hours after The Steve's keynote. I am a registered user with most of the sites but there is one that stands out (in my mind). http://www.MacIDOL.com/
IMHO, this site provides great tools for artists to share their music. Including the ability for artists to create their own webpages. You can check out mine at this address here (http://www.macidol.com/jamroom/bands/80/)
In addition to this feature they also have a "Total Plays Daily Chart", which is akin to the "Todays Top Songs" chart in the iTMS. With ~180 registered artists and over 160 submitted songs, there is a lot of great music just waiting for you to discover.
Anyways, those are a couple of the things I really like about this site. I'd be interested to know if others have found similar features on other sites, or what some of your favorite GarageBand communtiy sites are.
Best Regards,
Christopher Allen (A.K.A. Cockeyed)

Note: While I praise macidol.com I am not in any way affiliated with the owners of that site (other than being a user of course). I would just like for the MacIDOL community to grow alongside many of the other great Garageband Communities.

My, but that's a ringing endorsement from someone not in any way affiliated with the owners of that site...

LOL, I sense implications in your statement.;) Honestly this is just my favorite GB-related site and with a measley 30 or so registered forum users I thought it could use a few ringing endoresments. Afterall, these communities don't grow themselves...

Well, I can confirm that Cockeyed is not the owner of MacIdol because I am the owner of competing site, iCompositions (http://www.icompositions.com). Now for my own endorsment:

iCompositions.com was the first GB related community on the internet (under the name GarageBandCreations) launching only 7 hours after the MWSF keynote ended. We have since grown to over 725 users and about 500 uploads. Each user gets 50 mb for free simply by signing up (only providing a username, password, and email address). That's twice what MacIdol offers. All iCompositions uploads play right in your browser through quicktime as apposed to MacIdol's download a file which sets up a quicktime stream (sounds pretty silly to me). iCompositions has frequent contests (we've had three already) and incredibly populated forums (over 2000 posts). We've had over 460,000 hits from more than 13,000 unique visitors and receive (on average) 10,000 hits a day. iC was also mentioned in the Wall Street Journal yesterday. iC is the choice for 725 users, make it yours. :)

As long as we're endorsing things, I'd like to endorse MY site, which can be found at imstillrunningmacosxpoint1andthusgaragebandmeansabsolutelynothingtomeiguessibetterplopdownthe129doll arstobuytenpointthreeormaybeillwaituntilwegetsomespeedbumpsandjustbuyag5iguessthatmeansnever. com

It's really great...No, I'm serious.

(look, if the above url leads to some porn site, I'm not responsible :D )

Thanks, but I'll take MacIdols, since they're good enough to not badmouth you.

Plus, streaming sounds a lot better than downloading a Quicktime audio file over and over again even if its in your browser window.
