Hi everyone!

Okay, I've pretty much decided to go for the new nano rather than the 3gen one (see this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=560157) if you're interested in knowing why that was even up for debate, lol). But unfortunately the local 'Premium reseller' where I went to buy it (same folks I got my macbook and MM from, gee! almost a year ago :p) only stock the 8gb version at the moment, and based on past experience, they reckon they'll be getting the bigger ones just a few days before Christmas--in other words, a couple of months after stores get them stateside  Because hey, if I'm going for the new nano, I might as well go the whole hog and get the bigger version right?

So I've been looking into options for buying a Nano online. Apart from the dubious prospect of getting it on eBay, I also came across this service (http://www.shopanyamericanstore.com/index.php), who say they can buy stuff for you in the States then ship it to pretty well anywhere in the world (in this case, it would be Europe). That way, I'd be able to get my ipod without having to wait pretty much 'til Christmas, and I'd get more colors to choose from since I very much doubt any of the resellers here will be stocking all nine colors, especially until Christmas (portable music players in general never grew into a big market around here, and ipods even less due to the fact Windows is ubiquitous, and anything Apple and mac is pretty much invisible to anyone outside the graphic design/photography business). And I don't much like either the orange or the pink one!

So I wanted to post and ask if anyone here has any experience with this service--either the exact same company or even one that provides a similar service, someone you'd feel comfortable recommending. Was the shipping reasonable (I don't need to have very quick shipping; I don't mind waiting a couple of weeks if it saves me from forking out eighty bucks on s&h)? Are you satisfied with their communications, did you think they kept you up to date with where they were on your order? Could you pay via Paypal? That's the sort of thing I want to find out.

Aside from the service itself though, I wanted to ask whether it's sensible to buy an ipod from abroad in the first place (or at least, from outside your economic entity as it were, eg outside of the EU in my case, or outside of North America for people in the US and canada). For instance, how would the warranty work in case you have a problem? Or, what about plugs (okay, it doesn't matter so much with the ipod since it charges via USB anyway, but if I want to get a mains charger, would I be able to just walk into the local reseller's and buy one no fuss no muss, or would I have to pay attention to anything special)?

Stuff like that really, just exploring the options I guess ;) I spent all summer waiting for the new nanos to come out, with my old Creative muvo being held together by a spit and a prayer lol, so now I've kinda lost patience and really don't feel like waiting 'til Christmas :p The muvo is on its last legs, and could get permanently silent any day now, but two months seems too long to be without portable music entirely  Plus, I don't know anyone who could get me this as a Christmas present, so what's the point of waiting?
