Can someone who is familiar with computer architecture tell me if the latter is likely to give me 48% better non-gaming performance than the former based on the DDR3 RAM and the nvidia GPU? Thanks in advance!

1) Grad school, some video/rich media, very little 3D Gaming

2) Yes. If the answer was no, I'd just buy the top of the line new MBP.

Still no takers? Or is there just not enough data to say what the DDR3 and chipset will get us until there are some units available to benchmark? In fairness, the newness of the design and the newer features are worth about $200 more to me. Just not $500 more!
