This article still had that little sting of cynicism, so many naysayers, so much to blather. Still it's a good read. I supposed Jobs does need to play some cards correctly as they suggest at the end but if you think about it, Apple is legendary for shooting itself in the foot yet somehow going on (and on). I think it'll just take maybe a couple shifts, not just by Apple, but by computer consumers/buyers to realize what a joke the other options are compared to Apple.

This was a really good read. The most succinct telling of Apples current position and a good grasp of the likely futures. Sure there is that 'note of cynicism' but this is BusinessWeek, they have to balance their position on everything.

It has renewed my conviction that Apple is about to announce something big.

"It's the 20th anniversary of the original Mac, and we're going to make something of it," says Jobs

I had forgot about that one statement. We're coming off of one the more dissapointing MacWorlds in memory and I think it is because they held back for the 20th aniversary. The question still is, what?

In today's New York Times article about the (end of) negotiations between Pixar and Disney, there are quotes from some unnamed movie industry sources suggesting that people would like to see Jobs considered for the head role at Disney if Eisner is fired by shareholders at their meeting in March.
