The base of the iMac is totally disconnected from the display. Either someone got lazy or we now have detachable wireless monitors for the iMac!!!:p

The "melon" of the iMac and the arm/screen of the iMac are two different images... the top image probably just didn't load all the way for solitarycow.

Already done. They're called "Smart Displays" and are already on the market for about a year now.
