Thanks for the photos. I have one request and it is for a clear photo of the back of the computer with the lid closed (where the air vents/speakers are). I've hunted on Flickr and can't find a decent one anywhere!

Thank you all very much!
I'll take a photo of the back, lid closed, when it gets a bit lighter. It's so dark this morning!! Bloody winter.

nice shots!!! interesting mst of the height reductio is from the lid... but all good :)
i thought the ram/hdd was user replaceable so it should be easy like on the older macbooks? seems a bit scary if you're presented with that bare bones guts inside.. lol!! almost like upgrading a pc!!!!

The HDD replacement is easy - it's one screw underneath the bottom part of the laptop. It's the RAM that's difficult to get to. 8 screws to get into it and then a further few I believe to actually remove it.

Where can I get that laptop stand?
It is called an iCurve by Belkin. There are other similar stands on the market which are made of metal (brushed aluminium like MacBook) and which look nicer IMO.

The new Aluminium MacBook = new 12" PowerBook G4
The new Aluminium MacBook reminds me of the 12" PowerBook G4 very much and be considered a replacement for it now.
