I figure with firewire not being on the macbooks (and possibly on the way out, though this is debatable), people will be more apt to look at USB alternatives for music production. I have a Line 6 Toneport ux2 and i find that it works well for most basic recording (though maybe not suitable for more professional work). Devices like this may be on the rise now.
What experiences have you all had with these types of devices and what other usb alternatives would you suggest?

p.s. this isn't necessarily for me as I own an Imac and already have everything i need. Just something I started thinking about. figured I'd get some other opinions.
