View Full Version : webserver: .local quit working, localhost still works?

In my recent experiments to create a local wireless network, with a shared internet connection, I somehow managed to make http://mark.local not resolve to anything. http://localhost works fine (apache is running), but it often jumps over to mark.local when using some of my local web projects.

How do I get this .local domain back up & running?

(all appropriate ports and such appear to still be enabled)

You probably forgot that your machine name for computers on the subnet had been set to "mark", and when you changed the name of your Computer Name, it reset the machine name at the same time. Just click the "Edit" below 'Computer Name' on the Sharing ctrl panel.

PS: You are one good lookin' dude.
