Link: Will Nemo find an iPod? Pixar is splitting up with Disney. Does that open the door for Steve Jobs to fold Pixar into Apple? (http://www.macbytes.com/link.php?sid=20040130133949)

I don't see how this can bennefit Apple or Pixar.. I can only see it as a means for SJ to cash out of Pixar, yet still retain control.

I may not know what went down in negotiations between Pixar and Disney, but IMHO, for Eisner to lose the producer of last year's highest grossing movie was STOOOPID.

The question now is will we see the labels 'beleagured' and 'niche player' applied to Disney? That would make me smile...

This will be Disney's make or break film. If they can pull off a hit (completely possible) they might save themselves - but if they go for profit over content, they're doomed. And seeing from the article that they're reworking it due to upper management concerns, things might not be so bright for the Disney Star.

I'll be very interested it seeing this all CGI Disney Film...

If I'm not mistaken, Disney has publicly stated that they've moved completely away from cel animation in favor of computer generated artwork. A HUGE artisitic loss, imho.

absolutely - and the transition to all CGI is going to be a huge thing for Disney - like I said, this one movie will make of break the whole shebang - and since its already going through a rework, its sounds like there might be some issues.

We'll have to wait until 2005 to find out.

go pixar go! disney just "bleeped" themselves, but this is so typical disney. i don't see how this will have any effect on apple, but pixar will pretty much have the pick of the litter for distribution. as long as they can continue to create great movies, they will be a mega force in the entertainment biz.

as the article itself said...

Still, as fun as it is to speculate about an Apple and Pixar merger, the odds of it actually happening are fairly remote.

There is no chance.

nada.

Zero.

Zip.

Why even bring it up?

Waste of space.
