Switching between a PC and a Mac on one Mac monitor

Can this be done? I have a Macbook Pro and a Dell laptop. I want to use one large monitor and switch between them. Help😀
 
"KVM switch" would also work.

BTW, what is the video connector type on the Dell? (Can I assume VGA connector?)
