just connected hard drive to airport extreme, how do i use it?

hey, just bought my first mac, and im trying to set up extreme. I set up the network fine, but now i want to connect my external hard drive. I plugged it into the extreme, but i dont know how to access it. i know the computer recognizes it, but how do i view the files? thanks
