If you guys wish to purchase a new aluminum MacBook, I recommend you to call a store to ask whether they have it in stock. If they do, they would actually take holds. I called one store and they set me up on personal shopping without me actually doing it by myself. I think they will continue to take holds as long as you get to the store within an hour, because they won't hold it for you that long.
