I bought a 32GB Touch last week, and I immediately threw away the earbuds thinking, "jeez, i don't need ANOTHER pair of cheap earbuds flying around in my house, i'm gonna use my Sennheisers anyways".
Now I find out that those "cheap earbuds" might have actually been useful because of the built-in remote.
Is that the case? Do the stock earphones that come packaged with the new Touch have a remote?

They come with just the standard headphones -- no mic.
I bought these off eBay, however:

I know there was no mic....but a friend told me yesterday that it still has a little knub in the cable (where the mic would be for the iphone ones) that functions as a remote button...so, no mic, just a button. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

You fool! Don't do that, of course it came with the built in remote/mic. Now you have to pay $70 to buy another set...

Nope, it's the standard Apple earbuds that came with every iPod before it. Nothing like the iPhone ones.
