This stinks.

I was set on getting a new 2.0 aluminum macbook, but then i happened to be on Best Buy's website and i saw that they reduced the old 2.1 macbook (still with the combo drive) to just $850. I have a gift card for $250, so that would take it to just $600. What i want to know is, how capable is this processor? I know i can add RAM for cheap, so thats not an issue, as is the super drive, or lack thereof.

I don't do many cpu intensive things on my computer. Its mostly just general use things such as the web, online videos, stuff like that. Virtually no gaming. What i'm wondering is if the 2.1 processor is enough to handle everything i want, especially a few years down the road.

Get MacTracker (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10816) and you can see the specs on all previous models.

Oh come on, it's ONLY last week's computer. Of course it's capable of doing what you wanted. It's like saying, should I go towards an '08 car or a '09 car. They're still capable of doing what you want. When it comes down to it, it's just a change of looks.
