I updated my White 2.4 Macbook with this hard drive back in August. Recently I have been hearing weird noises coming from the hard drive (sounds like beeps). Anyone else having problems with this drive?

I've had mine for a month and no problem so far...

Same here. No problems so far after one month.

Yes, i'm getting the beeps, too. It started when I was in XP in Boot Camp after I woke the computer up from sleep.

Add: It always happens when I wake from sleep. A reboot will get rid of it.

I have the Scorpio Black WD3200BJKT, same as yours only with free fall detection. If I find any answers on Google I'll put it here.

Add: The WD support site had a thread on this, and a solution for PCs with a patch. But no Mac fix yet, of course.

Since this is in the forums lately, I'll resurrect this thread.

I too bought a WD3200BEKT and popped it in my new June '09 13" Macbook pro. I don't get any noises, but I do get a spinning beach ball on occasion. Anyone have any new leads on this issue?

Possible this is due to the free fall sensor in the HD conflicting with the build in one in the MB. I installed one today, can't remember if it is the model with the sensor or not.

I'm running a WD3200BJKT on my early 2009 17" UB. No "beeps" here. Sounds exactly the same as the -BEKT (I had one in here, but warranty swapped it due to a very slight vibration - they sent me a -BJKT).

Also, no conflict with the internal SMS.

There is no free fall sensor in the WD3200BEKT, the WD3200BJKT has the sensor so I know it can't be that I'm pretty confused. :)
