I have a question hopefully it hasnt been answered it may sound kind of noob but I was wondering if you have an external HD which is a plug in HD into a wall for power cant you still use that with USB to keep files on. It worked with my Macbook Pro I had before I just purchased a MacBook but it was a hastle with the wifi transfer. Because I used to transfer before with a USB cord because I know they were saying the USB doesnt have the powere firewire does. Anyways I would appreciate it if anyone could answer this.

Thank You

yes you can use a USB powered hard drive with the new macbook. My hard drive supports both firewire and USB 2.0 and I have used both, I can tell you that USB is slower, took me about 15-20minutes to transfer 120gbs.
