There is an OSX windows media player for .wmv and other windows video files and it works great on my Ghz 17" Apple laptop:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/download/misc/winmp_osx.xml&secid=80&ssid=8&flgnosysreq=False

Works great playing my downloaded keyboard lessons.

Even if ya never watch AVI's or .wmv video you should download it just to see how great the metallic interface looks and just keep it handy. It works great.

It works, but that's about it. mplayer probably works better.

Online content is the only reason to have WMP 9, as far as I can tell.

There was a post here the day it was available. All you had to do was look. ;)

What still bothers me is this. I have the latest versions of:

Quicktime (with Divx, 3ivx and every other component under the sun.)
Mplayer
VLC
Windows Media Player
Real Player

And I STILL cannot play half of all the .avi's, .wmv and .asf out there. The ones that do play i'm lucky to get sound or for it not to freeze half way through.

What gives?

I use Windows Media Player on a daily basis. :)
If I knew how to convert .wma to .mp3, then I wouldn't use the program.

iKwak all u have to do to convert .wma file to mp3 is burn them to an audio CD then import them into itunes as mp3's I would use AAC they're MUCH BETTER.

Windows media 9 SUCKS ASS its slloowww as hell. and what's with it buffering the WHOLE video then u still can jump to a different part of it, its gota stop the video and re-buffer the whole thing agin. It's unreliable too. it crashes just as much as M$ crapy OS.

M$ sucks!

And on a semi-related note, for those of you unfortunate enough (like me) to have to use a PC at work:

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF REAL PLAYER for Windows. (version 10). It is absolutely horrific - it makes Windows Media Player look like the most well-put together, clean, stable, low-memory-using tiny app ever made.
