I have found some viruses I cant get rid of. So I am going to reinstall windows xp. before I do that I am going to back up my itunes on a external hard drive.

What is the best way to backup my itunes so that I don't have to rebuild it after i reinstall?

I dont want to have to restore my iphone and loose all my playlists and iphone apps.

any tips?

So after I install windows and itunes , I just drag the whole folder into itunes?
That's what I did.

I just copied the iTunes folder off my desktop onto an external and then back to its original place after reinstalling Windows.
