Hi,

Does anyone know a good site for DVD Chapter Names??

Using Handbrake there is the option to add them, and when watching movies it's kinda cool to see the name come up on the TV.

Purely because I'm being pedantic!!!

I tried Amazon but not all DVD's have this info and when using one of the Bourne movies it said there were 21 chapters, but Handbrake only picked up 20 - which was odd.

Thanks in advance.

I'm just guessing here, but Wikipedia maybe? Another option would to try and find the album art (or cover art.. whatever it is) and if you can find a pic of the inserts you might see the chapter names.

TagChimp (http://www.tagchimp.com/)
Has chapter names for most movies. Either the ones on the dvd or one's people have made up.

While we're on the subject...how do you get the chapter previews like you do on the rented films?

you just have to encode all the titles on the dvd besides the main title and splice them together.

I know this is an old thread, but I would also like to know where people get their chapter info from and didn't think it was necessary to start a new thread.

I use tagchimp, but if that doesn't have what I'm looking for I can often find the chapters on bestbuy.com.

Other than that, I'm not sure where to go. Any other good options?

Barnes and Noble (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/)

They have chapter info for most of the dvd`s they sell just search for the dvd you want. Plus the windows version of MetaX allows you to link to there site and grab the chapter info.

Download Metax (http://www.kerstetter.net/page53/page54/page54.html) it's free and it will search tagchimp and fill in ALL the details on your movie files including chapter titles. Nice to have director, screen writer etc. in there as well and it's very easy to use.

You mean the chapter thumbnails next to each chapter name?

Those require an additional track with them in it, AFAIKno encoder will generate those at present.

I'd like to see the slacker Devs of HandBrake implement it though. HandBrake is already generating an Keyframe for each chapter start - so it should be easy to get that to the muxer. The tricky thing is the MP4 track format - would have to reverse engineer that from
an iTunes purchase I guess.

AllMovie (http://www.allmovie.com). It's excellent.

Subler does the chapter thumbnails and uses tagchimp and is free.
