DDR3 CAS Latency Question

I was looking up G.Skill RAM on Newegg
and CAS Latency 9 is more expensive then CAS Latency 7.
I thought 7 was better please help me clarify this.

wondering the same thing actually... which is better, why, and what should i buy?

The lower the number the better, but the number is going to be set by the OS. I know this can be tweaked on windows machines, but I'm not sure if it can be messed with on Macs. So, the lower number is better, but it only matters if the OS will allow it to be set that low.
