I'm about to buy a new MacBook as a present for my mother who is a teacher.

Does she need to be present with me in the store to qualify for the educational discount - or can I just do this myself.... any tips / advise welcomed.

Don't want to do it online given the delays likely at the mo.

if YOU qualify for HE discount, then you can buy it for her.. but if you don't then she'll have to buy it... for her ;) and then I guess you can pay her back!!

The German online-store has a clause allowing parents buying products for their qualifying children. So I guess the other way should work as well. I don't know how they handle it in the physical Apple store, as Germany does not have any

They need proof in store, like her staff ID card, that is what i used when purchasing in store.
