I have a G4 500 Cube and wanted to start crunching. The problem is I don't have an internet connection at home.

The only access I have to the internet is University. I can't plug my computer into the internet though.

Is there any way that I can download stuff onto the Uni computers and using floppies transfer it to my mac????

If so can I collect enough data units to last a few weeks? I don't want to keep fetching stuff back and forth.

see if this works, i've never tried it myself:
Q: Can I run FAH without an internet connection? (#3013)
A: Sneakernetting is the ability to transport a work unit from an Internet connected computer to a stand-alone computer for processing and back again to be transmitted!

To do this type of operation you need to:

1. Have the console client setup (would not recommend using the graphical (GUI) client) on the Internet connected computer to receive the work unit.

2. Shutdown the client once it has started processing a WU.

3. Zip the "entire" FAH folder, on to a removable media (e.g. floppy).

4. Un-zip it on the stand-alone machine and start it up for processing.

5. Once the WU is complete, just reverse the process to transmit the completed WU and to receive a new one. Make sure it is put in it's original folder, just in case you have multiple clients!!

6. Once the client is on both machines, there is no need to copy the "FAH2console.exe" and "Core_65.exe" back and forth each time! The critical files are the "queue.dat", "client.cfg", and the entire contents of the "work" folder.

Note: You will need to change the "asknet=no" in the client.cfg to "asknet=yes"! To be safe, use the -config switch to accomplish it.
as far as getting weeks worth of work, all at one time, i don't think there is a way to do that. RC5-72 is a much better solution for offline machines that need to be periodically refreshed once in a while.
