Here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000CDJPQ/qid%3D1075751771/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-8532711-9909631)
is a link to the adapter I am asking about... I was thinking about getting one for my G5 to hook an iSight up to, since the other back firewire 400 port is taken up by my iPod... anyone ever try the adapter out, and does it power the firewire device okay, etc, etc?

Thanks in advance.

i like the idea of a firewire hub better, than converting the fw800, in the future if u do get a fw 800 u will have an adapter that u will be collecting dust, but with a hub u maximize fw400 expandability and still keep future fw 800 expansion posiible

Where can I find a cheap firewire hub? The cheapest I've seen is like $40... plus it needs an A/C adapter plugged in at all times to power it, right?

Well, since no one ever got back to me, I bought the firewire 800 to 400 adapter... I paid $10.04 for it shipped to me from an online store, and works wonderfully with my isight, no problems at all. To anyone who is reading this, I highly recommend it if you need an extra firewire 400 port and you don't use your firewire 800.
