My emac was shipped today from the UK apple store - i'm afraid to ask, but how long do you think it will take to arrive? i'm rather excited and impatient to ditch my beige Pentium II 233 (damn i think it heard me - it knows its fate!)

I know how you feel. I just recently upgraded from a Pentium II 433 to a G5, and the difference is staggering! I couldn't wait for it to arrive in the mail, as I'm sure you can't. You'll love it when it gets there!

lol! thanks guys! that upgrade to a g5 must have been sweet! i was turned on to Panther when i did my essays on it in California. hardly anyone it seems in the UK has one!

The tracking site showed my pbook shipped on the 28th and left Taipei on the 29th. Although it doesn't seem to have landed yet, are Apple using cargo Zeppelins for transport?

I know what it's like when you're waiting for a new computer, I had to wait 3 weeks for my first Mac :eek: (imported from US)

My second (current) Mac, on the other hand, arrived overnight :)

Ordrered my ipod on the 17th January. Shipped on the 22nd. Just rang apple and they say there has been a delay due to new year in Asia. It was prepared to fly on 27th and is still in shanghai !!. They expect it to be delievered to me by end of week. I won't be holding my breath!!.

Also, should get my first apple by the end of the week. Ordered it from a local reseller on 16th. A brand new 15" Powerbook. I cannot wait to get the ipod and powerbook together :D

I think my PowerBook may be with your eMac, mine too left Taiwan on the 29th and has just left customs in Holland. According to Apple. The tracking feature doesn't work for me.

I ordered a G4 14" iBook, my first ever Mac on 31st Jan. It is currently showing as at the Depart Terminal in Taipei.

I am in the UK so does anyone know if there is a chance it will be here by Monday?

The main reason for getting a Mac is to test my apps and web sites (Safari, IE5, Camino & Opera), but I also want to turn it into my PHP5 beta test machine as my Windows XP is my main PHP4 dev machine. I'm learning Java too so it'll be used for that as well.

How fast is a 933mhz 384MB RAM iBook compared to a Pent 4 2000 mhz 512MB SD RAM?.. just curious as to whether I'll find it sluggish.

I assumed that ordering from the Apple UK Store it would be shipped from the UK, I didn't realise it gets a free world cruise!

A big thumbs up to the staff at the apple store. Have rang 3 times in the last week and they have been spot on with the tracking of my ipod. Last time was yesterday and they said it would arrive by the end of the week. Infact, it arrived a day earlier than I expected :cool:

First impressions is that it is far more refined than the Rev. A that I had originally.

Still waiting for my iBook. It shows as 'Depart Terminal Luxembourg' yesterday at 1.13pm, so I would like to think I will get it Monday, Tuesday at the latest.
