Disk Utility Problems Since Installing Panther

Since installing 10.3.2 on my TiBook 1GHz, I have not been able to use the disk utility function. Every time I open the application, regardless of which tab is highlighted, as soon as I touch the TiBook hard drive icon on the left, the app crashed and asks for a bug report to be submitted.

I have tried re-installing to no avail. I know the old Jaguar trick of running 'fsck -y' no longer works with Panther, which is what I would have tried. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried booting from and running the disk utility from the Panther installation disk 1?
