I have recently bought a new external monitor (Philips 190B4) for my 12" PB-G4 (867), but for some reason the display panel in the system preferences is not giving me the option to run the display at 1600x1200. I know Philips recommends a resolution of 1280x1024 but i also know the display can handle 1600x1200. I'm asking if someone knows how i can get a list of more options or if I can force the computer to think that the display can handle a higher resolution.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry to be the one to tell you this but the Max resolution of your 'Philips 190B4' is 1280 x 1024. Most, if not all 19" LCD's are. Still this is a perfectly acceptable resolution if your monitor spanning.

Well I don't quite understand that because I see the option to go to 1600*1024, but that is all skewed and out of proportion. Anyways I guess I can live with the 1024*1024. it's not bad after all
