I just bought Macbook black. I am noticing that after about half an hour or 45 minutes of use the Macbook gets really hot. Is this expected? What are the options? Is new Macbook an improvement in this aspect?

Thanks for the help.

Hardik.

What are the temps? Use SMCFan Control.

my macbook rarely heats up and for the most part is quiet.

If you are new to macs make sure you actually quit the applications. simply pressing the x doesn't quit it. if you look in your dock anything with a little blue dot under it is still running. Finder will always be running so look under it to see if its running. To actually quit the applications do one of a few things

Apple key, command, button closest to space bar, whatever you want to call it, + q at the same time.
in the top right in bold it wil say the applications you are currently running, if its finder switch to something else. click on the applications name and the last options in the drop down box should be quit
right click the item in the dock and hit quit

i highly recomend the first one as its easiest.

If you are not a new mac owner/ you new that try running less proccess.
generally i can run safari itunes a d download a torrent with 2.1ghz and 1g of ram with no sound or heat.

hope this helps
