I have been to several Best Buys, Circuit Citys, Office Depot/Max etc. and no one sells a halfway decent priced Firewire 400 or 800. even newegg.com has a very limited selection and what they do have is extremely overpriced. Can someone please point me in the right direction, possibly with links to pages that sell reasonable FW 400/800 drives?

Unfortunately you get what you pay for....

I've got a 500GB MyBook Home with USB, eSata, and FW400 for $120 from costco. The drive works just fine but it's a bit noisy.

These are about $104 now. Mine is not loud at all, its a lot better then my old drive. You can also get the 1tb version for $174.
