You might want to look at all the threads SMkdesign has started about locking and unlocking iPhones in just the last week before you try and determine his motives.

He averages a new thread a day and appears to have 1G, 2G and a 3g phones and is trying to relock and/or un-jb the 1g and 2g phones before sending them back to Apple while trying to unlock the 3g.

Troll me thinks.
