DVD Remaster Pro is a paid one
Handbrake is a very popular free one.
Some stuff that Handbrake can't decrypt can be handled by Mac the Ripper (only rips, no re-encoding)
/edit; And don't forget to grab MetaX too...I haven't found anything on Windows nearly as good. (It adds all the metadata to the re-encoded file)

i am having trouble ripping 2 of my movies to my mac, i tried Ripit and mac the ripper, and they both give me errors.

i have tried on a pc with dvd decrypter and dvd shrink and still giving me errors.

the 2 movies in question are SAW 4 and resevoir dogs

they simply wont copy to my machines.

any ideas?

Sorry no.

Are you sure they aren't blu-ray or something?

Some DVD's just don't use the 'standard' copy protection. Then you have to get into the more expensive options for decrypting. I don't have any experience with those - all my DVD's ripped just fine. Of course, my DVD collection is mostly older discs, I have stopped collecting movies altogether.

Not all movies will rip with the current version of any of these softwares. I've noticed that the majority of problems come from Sony DVDs.

no the 2 movies that i metioned are both regular dvds.

Hello,
I tried Mac The Ripper which can rip a DVD but I can't find a feature that makes an .ISO from the DVD. (Without any encoding or ripping)

Ok there is the command line way with "dd" but I'd prefer a GUI with a possibility to chose languages to delete and so on

Any ideas ?
