Safari 1.2 and <optgroup>

I seem to suddenly be having problems with the <optgroup> tag. Some code I'm working on doesn't properly group options (within an <option> tag). The page works in IE, and used to work in Safari. I can't seem to remember any other place I (or others) have used it, but it's not difficult, so I assume that Safari 1.2 broke it.

Can anyone confirm? Am I, as they say, a retard?

I think the problem came with Safari 1.2. I read about it in the news thread about the new version, where someone mentioned something like that.
