Hey all,

I currently have 4GB of PC2-5300 RAM in my 2.4Ghz white MacBook.
Will this work in my new 24" 2.8Ghz iMac?

According to Crucial the MacBook is DDR2 PC2-5300 and the iMac is DDR2 PC2-6400.

Crucial - iMac (http://crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=iMac%202.8GHz%20Intel%20Core%202%20Duo%20%2824-inch%29%20MB325LL/A)
Crucial - MacBook (http://crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=MacBook%202.4GHz%20Intel%20Core%202%20Duo%20%2813-inch%20White%29)

Thanks!

According to http://guides.macrumors.com/Understanding_Intel_Mac_RAM#Intel_iMacs.2C_MacBooks.2C_MacBook_Pros_and_Mac_minis

"The April 2008 iMac requires DDR2-800 MHz (PC2-6400) SODIMMs. It uses a 1066 MHz Frontside bus, and 800 MHz memory bus. There are reports that it will run with some 667 MHz SODIMMs, but performance will be compromised."

Okay, thanks. So basically - it will work, but will be slower than it could be?
