Just to let you all know (apologies if you knew this already!) but the <marquee> tag now works in Safari 1.2...

It is a proprietary tag for use in IE - but good to know that such a common tag actually now works in Safari...

Hooray for supporting crap M$ added in an effort to get people to code exclusively for IE!

Hyatt (the Safari guy at Apple) had some amusing comments about Marquee support in his blog.

Marquee is the 2nd most annoying tag ever, but heck, why not. It's not a big deal to add it, and when you're a web browser it's better to emulate the devil than remain high, mighty, and rendering pages that don't look the way their idiot authors intended.

I agree... proprietary and deprecated tags can be annoying as you-know-what, but it is just hindering users when a modern web browser doesn't support them. So they did the right thing, even as much as I *hate* marquee...
